A tee shot from the championship tee demands the utmost in accuracy as the landing zone is only 20 yards wide, with a large depression to the right and dunes to the left.
A tee shot from the medal tee, although still blind, affords the player a greater degree of error as the fairway opens slightly, with the best view of the green from the right side. Longer hitters will play for position using a long iron so as to stay short of the fairway bunker, some 50 yards from the green.
The approach must carry to the green so as to not get an unfriendly kick right, towards a grassy hollow. This green slopes upwards from front to back as well as from left to right.
